These weren't written by me, but by a friend of mine who asked me if I could identify them.... I can't, but I thought perhaps somebody here could.

The movies-

One was about a mother and daughter who lived in a postapocalyptic-type desert and spent all day jacked into something like a Matrix (they called it Infinitas, or Infinitar or some craziness like that) where they lived out fantasies in VR all day long occasionally waking to eat strange looking food and argue with each other. And they eventually get kidnapped and tortured by desert bandits or something.

The other was a movie about a small group of people taking a long space flight somewhere. One of the subplots was that somebody planted a bomb on the ship that looked like a tiny red light bulb but managed to blow away a big chunk of the ship.

That's all he said.... Any Ideas?

The first one is Mindwarp, starring Angus Scrimm and Bruce Campbell.

One of my personal favorites.

Could the second be Airplane II?

No...  probably not.

Yeah, I recognized Mindwarp immediately.  I liked the movie althought I'm not a gore fan so some of it turned me off.  Still, well done movie.

Not very likely, but "Spacejacked" comes to mind for the second
