name this movie

I'm hoping someone here can help me remember this movie.  I can remember seeing it back in the early 90's.  This is what I can recall:

-Two or three guys kidnapped a class and their teacher.

-I sorta remeber Australian accents.

-probably made in late 70's, early 80's

-the guys wore masks of cartoon figures

-they took the children to a cave

I remember this movie.  They showed it all the time on HBO in the eighties.

Don't remember the title though.
