A BULLIT FOR SANDOVOL (1969) - Very good Spaghetti Western starring George Hilton and Ernest Borgnine. Good production values in this Italian Western. It's about a Confederate soldier who runs home to be with his girlfriend who is having trouble delivering their baby on the eve a major battle. He's caught and forced to bury the dead in a mass grave where he is also expected to end up. A couple soldiers help him escape and help him get to his girlfriend who just died giving birth to a son. While this is happening the town is experiencing an epidemic of cholora and the girls father wants him and the baby out of his home. The soldiers leave town, but nobody will help them in the neighboring towns because of the Cholora in the town they just came from. The baby dies and he returns with a band of outlaws to get revenge on his dead girlfriends father played by Ernest Borgnine who gets gored by a bull. The small band run into a bull fighting ring to get away from goverment troops and are surrounded. Well, I won't spoil the ending for you all. Another good Ernest Borgnine film as well.
ANY GUN CAN PLAY (1967) - This is a rather dramatic spoof on the Leone Westerns of the time period. Also starring George Hilton as the Stranger and it's all about the gold. The stranger collects bounty much like Eastwood did in
THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY Not a bad little bowl of pasta if you can look past the borrowed material.
Both films nicely shot in Spain.................................
