Gotta say this movie wasn't that bad. Its one of those movies though, you have to see in theaters as it relys on cheap loud noises for its scares (doors crashing, loud creaking etc.). It starts off with our with our main character being deadly afraid of the "boogeyman" since he was little (rightly so but if I tell you it would be a spoiler) up to the point were when he becomes a adult he does not have any closets in his apartment and still afraid of closets in general. He later goes back to the house that he first saw the boogeyman to face his fears.

This is one of the better suspense/horror movies Ive seen recently in the theaters better than "Darkness" and "White Noise".  The ending may p**s off some but it actuallys wraps everything up not a cliffhanger/kick in the balls endings. It also could of did alot better with a R rating but can't really expect that now a days.

I havnt seen it  yet, but i hear the ending was a real bummer. Somebody told me the ending before i saw it, and to be honest i dont think its worth seeing now knowing the ending.

I saw this with my wife on Saturday. I won't say it was a bad movie but I also can't say it was very good. My wife really liked it but, hell, she doesn't require much from a movie, she's not as hardcore as I am when it comes to "horror" movies. The ending was not only poorly thought out and ridiculous, but the cgi boogeyman that you finally got to see at the end was horrid. He didn't look even close to being real. There are plot holes everywhere also that you hope against hope will be explained when it all comes together...no sir. I am also disgusted with what modern film makers have decided makes a movie "scary". The sudden, loud screeches aren't scary, they're friggin' annoying. The quick flashbacks and brightly colored flashes of light every time something happens...what is that crap supposed to do other than blind me? Have these people forgotten suspense and build up? Apparently.
Anyway, it was entertaining in it's own way and I'm not mad about having seen it but I can't really reccommend it to anyone.

Hey Susan, where you been?
Anyway, I can't tell you if this is based on the King short story. I didn't pay enough attention to the credits to see if it said anything there and truthfully, I never read the story so I have nothing to compare it to.

*Walks in and takes a deep breath* Ahhh...Good to be back.

I am not really excited about this movie for some reason. I suppose I can wait untill it comes out on video to see it.

Work, it's been crazy with a "special project" and the fact that my supervisor is Hitler i've been doing alot of overtime and just wanting to sleep through every other waking hour at home.   Except when "LOST" is on - man I love that show! But i digress...

I didn't see anything either that would credit King, the title and some of the clips however seemed like something ripped off from the short and taken in a new direction. I haven't even seen a real movie in a theater in ages.

Caught this on video last night.  Got off to a decent enough start, and even continued on with some intriguing plot twists and turns, but damnit, I gotta echo those who mention the annoyance factor with the sudden loud noises, and other cheap-shot alarm effects.  We were actually yelling at the TV screen when the credits started to roll.  I couldn't believe what a crap finale they forced on me.

Catch the sleazy b-movie "Boogeyman" from `80 instead, I say!
