I found an ebay posting for five episodes of this show on DVD last night.  I had completely forgotten about it from my childhood, and went ahead and bought the DVD.  If I remember correctly, I used to watch it on USA on Friday nights.  I believe that they would show it before or after an episode of HBO's The Hitchhiker.

The show was like a Tales From The Darkside / Twilight Zone rip, with Freddy Kruger as the host.  Some of the episodes featured Freddy, while others were just narrated by him.

Here's the episode listing for anyone who remembers the show:

No More Mr. Nice Guy. Director Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist) brings you the never before seen origin of Freddy Krueger. When Freddy gets off on a technicality while on trial for murder, the Springwood neighbors take matters into their own hands. The Elm Street locals think they are finally safe when suddenly Freddy returns to them in their dreams.

Freddy's Tricks or Treats. College student Marsha would rather study on Halloween than have a good time. Down in the school morgue boning up for her anatomy midterm, Marsha meets her new study buddy, Freddy Krueger.

Lucky Stiff. Director William Malone (House on Haunted Hill, Fear-Dot-Com). When Lenny (David Lander of Lavern and Shirley) kicks off from a heart attack, Greta ties the knot with her lover. When the newlyweds discover Lenny had a $20 million lottery ticket in the suit pocket he was buried in, Greta decides she would rather new share her new found wealth.

Dreams That Kill. Talk show host Charlie Michaels vows to investigate a series of bizarre death dreams. But, that of course is a story Freddy would rather keep to himself. While unconscious, Freddy takes control of Charlie's mind. When Freddy takes over a TV talk show, you know some changes will be made. Looks like the guests will do a lot more screaming than talking.

It's My Party and You'll Die If I Want You To. At a New Age Convention in Springwood, Freddy makes contact with a spiritual channeler and takes over her body for a murder spree. Freddy then shows up to the 1970 Springwood High class reunion to deaden things up a little. He can't wait to renew his acquaintance with Denise, the girl that stood him up at the senior prom as a joke. Looks like the joke is on her.

I don't remember seeing any of these episodes, so it should be pretty interesting.  Anyone else remember it?

I remember having watched that way back when. Out of all the ones you listed, the only one that sounds familiar is the "Lucky Stiff" episode. I gave up watching it on a regular basis after a while because Freddy started to annoy me seeing him "hosting" a show and trying to be funny every week. Ah, it's gotta be good viewing though for the memories if nothing else.

I have a very slight recollection of this show; I think it'd be a kick to watch it now and see how well it held up.  If you don't mind me asking Skaboi, was the DVD on eBay a boot, or is there an actual official release?

Dolph,

As with most DVDs on Ebay, it was a boot - which is just fine with me.

I thought so; I didn't remember hearing anything about a release.  Anyway, keep us posted on how good or not-so-good the episodes are ... I might try to track this DVD down in the future.
