How many times Did Ash fire that shotgun at the end of Army of Darkness?

Last night, Scifi showed Army of Darkness.  I love the movie even though I don't own a copy.  At the end, when Ash grabs a shotgun in the S-Mart to kill the demonic woman, he fires that thing so fast that I lost count as to how many shots he fired.  

So I decided to put it up to the movie experts, how many shots did he get off with that shotgun at the end of the movie in the S-Mart?

( I personally don't think that shotgun could hold that many shots but it was still a cool sequence.)

Come on John.  Nobody ever has to reload in a movie.  It's a unwritten law.  Just like how everyone jumped out of the tank or plane just before they blow up in a GI Joe cartoon.

Unless they are in a jam, cornered with the bad guys comming in for the kill or on the run from the good guys.  They always run out of bullets.

If the Bad guy runs out of bullets, he throws the gun at his opponent.  (Old Superman TV show starring George Reeves.  Superman would stand there while the bad guys would shoot him.  When the bad guys ran out of bullets, they would throw the gun at Superman.  Superman would DUCK?! WHY)

If the GOOD guy runs out of bullets, he looks for some neat way to win the fight.  (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: Indi's father uses his umbrella to make bird fly into the plane that was attacking him and Indi.  Indi needed to reload his gun.)

Not trying to split hairs, but I don't think that it is a shotgun.  The lever action design means that, most likely, Ash is using a rifle.  I think the weapon was a 30-30 rifle.

Still, even a smaller caliber rifle (of the same design) is going to have a max of 10 or 12 shots.

from watching my copy, it sounded like 6 shots when he was rolling towards the deadite

After running that about a dozen times, it appears 31.  There are 4 strings of fire:

I knew you would have the answer.  Now I just need to get a copy of the movie myself.  (I'll first have to convence my wife that I can't live without it.  It took alot of begging to get Attack of the Killer Tomatos.)

ARMY OF DARKNESS is just a silly horror-comedy! You really can't analyse how many times the gun was really supposed to be fired (or you can, depending on what kind of movie it is), or how can he create a mechanical hand when the technology of the time Ash is in was primitive. It's a fantasy, not a historicaly accurate picture.

It's really amazes me that I run into people at my school who find ARMY OF DARKNESS to be a cheese-fest full of action and comedy that sucks in their eyes, but they speak highly of really crappy movies like THE PATRIOT and PEARL HARBOR for being "historicaly accurate" when they are not and having bad plots, bad acting, and overblown special effects that make me puke. I would really like to take a lawnmower to these guys (and guess what movie that comes right out of).

But, I am just making another B.S. statement like I always do.

Actually on this movie on last night, Life form we see the hero throw the gun and then is killed.
But if a hero throws a gun 9 out of 10 times they're dead.
