The "Death Machines" is...well, it kinda...no...you see, it really...this thing is awful. But so effin' funny. I really will watch this one again and again because it is SO DAMN STUPID!!!!! You have to see this thing to believe it. I'm surprised it doesn't have some warped cult following.

It's nice they got Terry Gilliam to do the 'DEATH MACHINE' title animation, though.

That one guy does a good drop when he's supposed to be shot in the face. BAM!

Oh, man it was bad. And not in a nice way.

They show no dialogue in the trailer because even the film makers can't put up with her "acting".

I love THE WHITE GORILLA - it's one of my favorites. The spectacle of Ray "Crash" Corrigan kidnapping himself in the white gorilla suit and interacting with actors filmed twenty years earlier raises this one above all other cheap jungle gorilla epics. I particularly like how the fate of most of the cast, including a chunky jungle boy, is explained with the throwaway line "Oh, all we found was a bunch of skeletons."

Even though I had a copy of it on one of those 50 movie packs I got the 'Special Edition' version with THE BRIDE AND THE BEAST (screenplay by Ed Wood, Jr.) last year. The commentary by Tom Weaver and gorilla suit expert Bob Burns is worth the price of admission.

WHITE PONGO (1945) is a similar movie featuring Corrigan and his white gorilla suit, but it's not nearly as much fun.

Oddly enough, this boring thing was released in 3D. It shows up on Mill Creek's Tales Of Terror 50-movie set, and it is either a bad transfer or it still has the 3D elements in some of the scenes. The print is so bad that even if it is the 3D version, using glasses would cause a headache as big as the movie itself does. But, yeah, it was pretty gory. Not surprisingly, there are a number of movies out there that were released as PG and GP that had a shocking amount of gore and violence in them. "Blood and Lace" is a prime example of this. Bloody, sleazy, sick and evil...and rated GP. I wish I could find it on DVD, but it just isn't out there.
