Yeah, I've been thinking 'oddly attractive' is not the best term for these women. They're actresses you consider hot, who would not fit that category for most people. They could be oddly attractive, moderately attractive, kind of pretty or what many people would call plain or even homely by popular standards of beauty. Just not the conventional idea of hot. I guess we could still call them oddly attractive in the sense that the degree of attractiveness might seem oddly out of proportion to other people.

Was just thinking of another one while watching Jericho recently - Alicia Coppola.

Gotta agree with what Justy said above. most of the women we're mentioning are pretty. They just aren't pretty in the spotless, camera-friendly, glamorous definition of the word.

Another beautiful actress out there, Sarah Polley:

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I always had the hots for Susan Penhaligon. I wanted her bad when I saw The Land That Time Forgot.

Jorja Fox- I'm not a fan of CSI, and some people might say she's not 'classically beautiful', but if I happen to see her on tv, I do watch for a few minutes.

For me, Anna Paquin is like the girl from "Seinfeld", whose attractiveness came and went.

Has Radha Mitchell been mentioned yet?

She's got a face so peculiar I wouldn't call her a beauty. Yet, she is extremely attractive. Just saw her on "Rogue", and she looks great even with a lifebelt and sun burned skin.

Julianne Moore.

Mariska Hargitay

Both tough as nails, I guess I just find that attractive. And short hair. I think women with short hair are very cute :teddyr:

Helena Bonham Carter.

Don't know if she's been mentioned.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread with something new.

The Brand Power chick. Apparently most countries represented on this board have their own, hosting thinly-disguised commercials on TV, using a trustworthy "real woman" kind of image.

Anybody here think the Brand Power chick is hot?

I have to say, the Canadian Brand power chick has caused me to stop jumping through the commercials more than once. She's clearly pretty, in an everyday sort of way. She's pleasant. She usually wears a tight sweater. But, she would not qualify as a hottie by popular standards. But I say she's hot, and apparently so do a lot of other people.

It's interesting how many people develop an appreciation for some minor television personality. I can remember a few conversations with friends, usually whilst tossing back a few, that centred around who on the local evening news, the weather channel or some morning talk show, we'd like to boink if we had the chance. We were 18 or 19 at the time. But it occurred to me, even then, that this is something universal among guys.

Violet and Daisy Hilton were considered quite the babes in their day:

Nothing the least bit suggestive about those saxophones. Not a thing.

The Hiltons' last public appearance was at a drive-in movie theater in Charlotte, North Carolina. Their tour manager abandoned them there, and with no means of transportation or income, they were forced to take a job in a nearby grocery store. ~ Wikipedia

Hmmmmm... I would like to know more about this story... like Why?

Hot?  Hmmm, no, but I'd damn sure spend a lot of time with her.  She's looks like the kind of person who would be fun to hang out with as well as rock your world in bed.  She's wonderfully attractive.

A "hot" woman would make my brain short-circuit and cause me to mutter, "Holy S***!"  They are fun to look at, but I'd rather have a woman who looks great AND fun to be with.  Brand Power Lady fits that description.

Perhaps more just plain attractive than oddly attractive, but still something about her that's just slightly different:
Paget Brewster

Although she's no actress, I think Sharleen Spiteri, from the band Texas, fits right in this thread.
