What's the weirdest question you've ever been asked?

I was once asked if I got my DNA from my parents or from someone else.

Someone once asked my wife and I if we planned to have twins.

Two strange ones:

"If you're African, why aren't you a person of color?"
"Do you have toilets here?"

I remember it being just about the best feeling in life. (Though many summers in late elementary thru middle school I got sent to these horrid "intersession clinics" for gifted students, which were like intense eight-hour daily 2-3 week workshops in math and science tilI I finally got my parents to stand up to the school and quit sending me.)

i was far too busy helping my parents and family to be unimpressed with the summer school AP courses i got to do. they were awesome, and FUN!

Would you say people tend to have strong reactions to you, either liking you very much or disliking you with equal vigor?

I think that's been true in my life. Take my friend Clare's parents, whom I've known for decades. Her dad seems to want to do anything for me, while I do think her mom wishes I'd die. I had an advisor in college who gave every impression of hating me from minute one for no reason I was ever able to figure out or ever able to change. Sure, plenty of people are so-so/just whatever about me but I've noticed and others have noticed I tend to inspire deep affection or even loathing when I'm not altogether sure either was merited. Strange.

i always expect to see all ranges of reaction to me, mostly because i don't pull punches, i never judge on first impression, i'm a very loving person, but i'm also a strict b***h when it come to what i allow to happen around me. love me, hate me, whatever, that's on you, and we can discuss it anytime , over a beer and a plate of tacos.

Maybe this is a tough one but have you ever regretted being pressured to do something because it was a societal norm?

When I came to SA in 1987, conformity was the norm and I rebelled against that very much. Society was very restricted and restrictive then and people like me were frowned on 🙄

What's your favorite cartoons?

Anything done by Tex Avery just kills me.

Probably King of the Hill.

Ever seen this analysis of the beauty of the background art in classic Warner Brothers animation?

Aw, nevermind, mine was too hard of a question. I had something in mind as an answer to my original question but occasionally a dormant little filter kicks on in my head and tells me I probably should not say that.
