Robert Ginty stars as The Rider in this incredibly cheesy Italian clone of "Mad Max".

The plot is ho-hum: The Rider likes to ride his supersonic bike (I kid you not: it ostensibly kicks into "sub-sonic mode" at the begining of the film) and challenge troopers into destruction rallies, but he abandons such a bucholic life to command a rebel army against Prossor (Donald Pleasence, looking so much like Dr. Evil from the "Austin Powers" movies that it can't be right), some kind of tyrant who enslaves people after brainwashing them.

So yes, it's that kind of movie. Lame, cheap and with a complete disregard for logic of any kind. But then, the action never slows down, and there's plenty of stuff to watch for, like the hero's sidekick, the bike itself, who has a very limited vocabulary and a extremely annoying voice.

Or Fred Williamson looking really p**sed at his agent: not only he looks completely ridiculous, but he barely does anything in the movie. And there's also a musical number that looks straight out of the gay bars from "Cruising", and extras dressed in completely random clothing.

So yes, it's essentially that kind of movie that would stink in the wrong hands, but here somehow the Italians managed to include some outrageously funny element on almost every scene. Take these: Mad Max was badass, point taken, but, did he ever ambush an enemy who was taking a leak by the road? And, by the end, while the heroes celebrate their victory, they all start dancing and singing along the silly pop song that plays!

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I was quite gleeful when Megaweapon slowly rolled over that annoying motorcycle.  Yes sir, reviewed:

The best part about this movie was that any car which left the road instantly exploded, ala "Spy Hunter."

Good review, Andrew.  Thumbup

But can't believe you didn't mention the freedom fighters had such a prominent leather community.  BounceGiggle
