As to the whole gender bender thing, hey, if androgyny is good enough for Joan Jett it's good enough for anyone.

She's a woman. A crazy, apes**t hard drinking woman. Me and Sam and his girlfreind Carrie followed her car! from the fair to a farmhouse-and we knew these folks! We just stopped long enough to say Hey!

I didn't even know it existed until a few years ago but that is beside the point.
I've been there, and wasn't impressed. Is there something I'm missing? because it has no appeal to me whatsoever.

Just no... *shudders*.  Yeah, maybe it's cause I'm a wimp and don't care for needles, but serious I just don't get it.  I mean, ears maybe, but the extreme crazy s**t they're doing nowadays?  Yikes.

Me either. My brother Richie (RIP) had his nipple pierced.
 I don't get tats either. I got 'I LOVE BEER' on my left knuckles from a home-made tat gun I made when I was homeless in NYC in 1984, and I wish it was gone.

The Matthew Effect; Theron's an actress, & actresses are more recognizable than cinematographers.

I heard that all the time from Ma on Long Island. Me and my brother Glenn was jamming on some Black Flag when my Ma came home from her Jehovah Witness church on a Friday night, walked into the room and screamed-"It sounds like someone died and went to Hell in here!!!"

I don't get Norwegian death metal like my buddy is into. It's not singing, it's growling. Call it growling and I'm cool with it but can't fool me, man, I know singing when I hear it.
