The Plot:

Don't be fooled by the cover art that bills Cynthia Rothrock as the star. She's really in a small cameo in this big bore. Cynthia Rothrock plans some revenge on the Chan gang, the bastards who killed her husband. She gets the unexpecting aid of a tough ninja, hired by Cynthia's husband to kill off the gang, so she starts wiping them all out one by one. The plot also focuses on two cops wearing really dated outfits trying to find a way to stop the gang and focuses around gang wars for no particular reason. There is no story and barely any kung-fu, and it drags a lot. It seems like Cynthia just shot a few quick scenes, including a ridiculous scene of her crying hard, and left the project, so they just put in that crying scene in loads of scenes so they could bill her for lead role. I had a hard time staying up throughout and there wasn't much to watch for, though the deaths are often silly. The only good thing about this film is the actor who played White-Powder Chan. The unknown actor, Stack Pierce who plays him is excellent and menacing. I wish we could see more of him and give him bigger and better parts.

Things I Learned From This Movie:

  • Even American actors voices look dubbed in American kung-fu films.

Quotes:

  • Police Captain: "Did you know that the body count in this city in the last 90 days was sixty-nine."
    Lester: "Oooooo!! Sixty-nine! Magic number."
  • Drunk Homeless Bum: "Some guy dressed all in a--in a--black suit, you know, like, one of those--one of those of those kung-fu movies. It was great, he came in here, and he just whooped on them. He whooped on them people like they were his stepchildren. He just aaaahhhhh! Ah."
